The Patek Philippe ref 5711/1A debuted in 2006 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus model. It was an instant hit with collectors and has continued on an upward trajectory ever since. The distinctive porthole-shaped 40mm case is larger than the original (+1mm) and measures 8.3mm thick. An octagonal-shaped bezel frames the embossed dial with the horizontal lines unique to Patek Philippe. The white gold, baton-shaped hour markers and hands feature a luminescent coating.
In fact, the iconic sport watch has gotten so popular that Patek’s President, Thierry Stern, felt it was too distracting from the company’s other models and decided to discontinue ref 5711/1A in 2021.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-018 Tiffany Blue has been released in 2021 in a limited production of 170 pieces as a celebration of Patek’s relationship with retailer, Tiffany & Co.
